Texas Furniture Book Signing
1-3pmWinedale Historical Complex, 3738 FM 2714 Round Top, Texas
The art of furniture making flourished in Texas during the mid-nineteenth century. To document this rich heritage of locally made furniture, Winedale patron Miss Ima Hogg enlisted Lonn Taylor and David B. Warren to research early Texas furniture and its makers. Their extensive research efforts resulted in the 1975 publication of Texas Furniture, which quickly became the authoritative reference on this subject. Now updated and expanded, Texas Furniture presents a catalog of more than two hundred pieces of furniture, each superbly photographed and accompanied by detailed descriptions of the piece’s maker,
date, materials, measurements, history, and owner, as well as an analysis by the authors. Authors Lonn Taylor and David Warren will be available to sign books. Books may be purchased at the event. Please visit www.winedale.org for directions. RSVP by March 16 to cah.rsvp@austin.utexas.edu or (512) 495-4369.
