Heart of the Tin Trunk
2 & 8PM
Round Top Festival Institute, 248 Jaster Road, Round Top, TX 78954
An Exciting Not-to-be-missed Texas Heritage Musical

"Heart of the Tin Trunk" has been written to celebrate immigrant struggle and the traditional roots and spirit of Fayette County that has been home to countless Czech and German immigrants, who came in the nineteenth century. The two cultures have been learning to cooperate, to combine families and to live side-by-side over the span of three centuries in Texas. Their educational stories are about courage, faith and dedication necessary for dreams to be fulfilled in places like Schulenburg, La Grange, Swiss Alp and Praha. These towns are only a short distance from the metropolitan areas of Houston, San Antonio, Austin and Dallas, where descendants have settled and are expressing interest in remembering, revisiting or relearning the settlement of Central Texas.
